At NK2- Schipperswelzijn, the training centre where technology and craftsmanship come together, we offer an industry-leading simulator experience that takes any inland navigation training to the next level. With eight advanced simulators we train you or your team on every aspect of inland navigation - completely realistic, completely risk-free.

2 Full Mission Simulators (FMS)
- Realistic wheelhouse with radar, ECDIS (Electronic Chart Display and Information System) , communication equipment
- Simulated weather scenarios, day/night cycles, currents, tides
- Exercise in emergency situations: engine failure, fire, collisions
- Live performance analysis and feedback by instructors
3 Radar Simulators
Our 3 radar simulators bring navigation to life with realistic, geographically correct waterways. Simulated radar displays of ships, buoys and beacons, bridges, locks and ports allow trainees and professionals to train in a safe, controlled environment.
1 Mooring Simulator
With our mooring simulator, you will learn to moor, moor and unmoor to prevent incidents through realistic, risk-free training
Unique in Flanders!
- Train safely on mooring, docking and unmooring
- Realistic interaction with bollards, mooring lines and bollards
- Avoid damage, incidents and workplace accidents
1 Remote Simulator
Our remote simulator teaches you (semi)-autonomous remote sailing.
Train by distance:
- Radar, ECDIS or 3D environment on your own screen
- Multi-user scenarios and simulation of traffic communications
- Practice on approaching ports and locks, manoeuvring on narrow waterways, radar training in fog, communication with VTS (Vessel Traffic Services), cooperating with other virtual vessels (multi-user scenarios)
Availability
Our simulators are available by the day:
- Morning: 08:30 - 12:00 (from Monday to Saturday)
- Afternoon: 13:00 - 16:30 (from Monday to Saturday)
- Evening (on request) : 17:00 - 20:30 (from Monday to Friday)
- Full day: 8:30 - 16:30 (Monday to Saturday)

Combine practice with theory
Teaching facilities available through Schipperswelzijn
Would you like to extend the simulator training with a theoretical training or briefing in advance or afterwards? No problem. In collaboration with the neighbouring Skippers' welfare we offer the possibility of a fully equipped classroom to reserve, perfect for class-based explanations, group sessions or follow-up discussions. The classrooms are located just next to the simulators, are modernly furnished and equipped with all necessary facilities. We guarantee a seamless combination of theory and practice, in one location.

Simulator training with
theory and briefing
Would you like to supplement your simulator training with theoretical training, briefing or debriefing? You can. In cooperation with Schipperswelzijn, we offer modern classrooms right next to the simulators. Perfect for class-based explanations, group sessions or evaluations. The rooms are fully equipped with all necessary facilities, so theory and practice are seamlessly combined in one location.
